Ionic vs. Colloidal Minerals

>The Difference Between Ionic Minerals and Colloidal Minerals for Mineral Supplements

Which is better mineral supplements, colloidal minerals or ionic minerals?

Is there a difference and what is the difference?

The term Colloidal Minerals became popular in the 70's and 80's. A bottle of colloidal minerals usually sold for about $20 and the suggested use was a dropper full every day. There was no distinction as to whether the mineral supplements in "colloidal" suspension were ionic minerals or not. In fact most were not ionic, it simply meant that the mineral supplements were in a liquid suspension as opposed to say chalk lying in the bottom of a bottle of liquid.

True colloidal calcium is simply a particle of calcium small enough to remain in suspension in a liquid, however it is not dissolved in the liquid. A test is described by using a pointer laser pen light to shine through the liquid. If the minerals are in suspension, the light will bounce off the particles in suspension and show a path through the light whereas ionic calcium will pass the light without showing a path. Particle size of ionic calcium is measured in terms of angstroms (one millimeter equals 10,000,000 angstroms)

Even though colloidal minerals (including calcium) are easily absorbed into the body they have a very low bio-availability. In other words, they may not be much more effective than licking chalk as a source for calcium. In fact, colloidal minerals can be toxic.

On the other hand, ionic minerals are totally bio-available. Results are immediate. In other words, from the first drink of ionic water, the calcium, magnesium, and other valuable nutrients go to work. You don't have to wait six months to see the value of this product in your life. You don't have to take it for six months to experience a shift in your body chemistry--it's immediate.
